Safety striping at a community pool facility is a different discipline from parking lot striping — the surface is concrete rather than asphalt, the stakes for incorrect line placement are higher, and the paint specification must account for constant wet exposure and bare foot traffic on a surface that gets sunscreen, pool chemicals, and standing water on it every day.
This HOA community pool patio required no-standing zone demarcation along the pool perimeter — a safety requirement that delineates where deck space transitions to a hazard zone at the pool's edge. Lines must be clearly visible from a standing position, resist fade from UV and chlorine exposure, and provide adequate grip underfoot in wet conditions.
We used a traffic-grade water-based paint with slip-resistant aggregate — not standard parking lot paint applied to a pool application. Surface was cleaned and prepped before application. Line layout was measured and marked before any paint went down.
The HOA now has a compliant, clearly marked pool deck with safety demarcation that meets the requirements for a commercial pool facility serving residents.
